Registration Forms

Dear Parents,

Time to start thinking about baseball!  See the 2008 Registration Information Form for details on how to register for Huron Little League Baseball.  The success of our program is attributable to volunteer coaches, umpires, and concession stand workers.  Last year we implemented a “volunteer deposit” program which we think worked out pretty well in helping us keep things running smoothly.  We plan to do things exactly the same this year.

At registration, each family will be required to write a separate check for $20.00 to leave as a “volunteer deposit.”  You will receive this check back at the end of the season (we will not cash it) provided one parent works one evening in the concession stand OR umpires one game during the season.  If you prefer not to or are unable to give of your time in this way, your $20 will go toward the cost of hiring workers or umpires.  Checks for those who fulfilled their volunteer requirement will be available for pickup at the concession stand during the playoffs at Kasa Field at the end of the season.  Checks that are not picked up will be shredded.

A calendar will be available at registration and posted in the concession stand throughout the season to sign up for concession stand work.  An evening of work in the stand begins at approximately 5:15 and ends at approximately 8:30 when the games are over.  Robin Axtmann is the Concessions Manager this year.  Please call her at 554-1234 with questions.

There will be a sign-up sheet at registration for any parent OR player in Major, Pony, and Colt League that wishes to umpire games.  However, having your child umpire a game will not “count” toward your volunteer deposit since they are already paid to umpire.  There will be an umpire clinic held at a later date for those who intend to umpire this season.  Please call Mike Carda, Umpire-in-Chief, at 352-8135 with questions.

Every year we need approximately 25-30 volunteer coaches.  Head coaches’ families will receive their volunteer deposit back.  It you are interested in coaching a team, let us know at registration or contact any Little League Board member.

Please parents make every effort to get registered on one of the 3 designated evenings, as it helps us out tremendously in making the program the best it can be.   Remember to utilize the web-site at www.huronbaseball.net for information throughout the season.

Feel free to contact any Huron Little League Board Member with questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Huron Little League Board of Directors
